John T. Warner

John Warner is a 20+ year automotive industry executive with a track record of success and leadership within all aspects of technical, operational, leadership and management functions. Mr. Warner has direct experience leading and teaching cross-functional and multi-cultural teams in business development & sales, product management, product marketing, strategic planning, executing initiatives and global portfolio management in both large companies and start-ups. Currently, he leads the sales and business development activities for Magna E-Car’s growing North American Li-ion Battery business. Warner also led the program management, engineering and validation activities for a large US automotive OEM Li-ion battery development program, with responsibility for achieving program deliverables to engineer and validate three Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle batteries. Previously, Mr. Warner was the Director of Product Management and spent three years building the large format battery business at a Lithium-ion battery pre-IPO start-up in Massachusetts, called Boston-Power. Prior to this he was with General Motors as a Business Strategy Analyst with GM’s Powertrain Division and Diesel and Hybrid Powertrain Portfolio Manager during which he managed GM’s global portfolio of mild hybrid electric vehicle products, requiring close interaction with hybrid engineering, competitive intelligence, and government and regulatory compliance teams and developed, presented and enacted multiple global strategies for GM’s Powertrain unit in the areas of product expansion, M&A, product consolidation and technology growth. Mr. Warner holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, an MBA in International Business and a BA in Industrial Management from Baker College.
